Have you ever wanted to learn how to sail a yacht? Do you have dreams of sailing into the sunset (cliché, but it happens!) Don’t have a boat yourself? Or just want to crew?
We have a small team of members who have very kindly offered to share their boats and time with other members who want to do just this!
So you don’t need to have your own boat to join Hoo Ness Yacht Club! There are always opportunities to get out on the water, from just outside the club to the Mediterranean.
Hoo Ness Yacht Club is a traditional friendly yacht club located on the north shore of the River Medway. The club is easily reached from London, Kent, the M25.
Our location provides access to some excellent sheltered sailing waters, leading to the Thames Estuary and beyond.
The clubhouse has full facilities, ladies’ and gents’ toilets and showers of course, a training room, a comfortable clubroom with bar, and we enjoy the services of Christine, our cook, who provides breakfast, lunch dinner and snacks from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon at club prices. The wood fire is a delight in winter.
Sailing and Racing
Sailing activities include 2 series of six races during the season, usually one race per Sunday but occasionally two, back to back on a Saturday and Sunday with an overnight raft-up down river or meal out. The popular club cruises in company go to the East Coast venues, or to Ramsgate, or shorter trips to the Swale etc.
